The Preliminary Design phase, which begins with the client and designer meeting, defines the criteria and identifies the parameters of the home or structure from which the initial concept of the project is developed.
What you can expect:
- Questions to be answered include type of design project (i.e. primary or second home), budget, time frame and lifestyle necessities
- Site analysis for dwelling location, environmental factors, views, zoning and potential constraints
- Home/structure requirements identified such as room layouts, traffic circulation, furnishings, and architectural details
- Initial design concept presented by designer showing room layout and sizes as well as exterior elevations
