Cutters Bluff
A shingle style home designed to incorporate its sloped site with the lower level rooms, which open out and embrace the landscaping. The low roofline grounds the building and gives it a sense of solidity and security. The symmetry of the gables on the front façade directs the eye to the barrel vaulted entry porch. The garage doors on the downhill side of the property are tucked below a cantilevered section of the house, breaking up the massing on the side of the building at its tallest.
The reception hall opens into a grand, double-height space with a stately wainscot paneled stair. The great and living rooms flank the entry and are accessed by arched openings. Both rooms feature coffered ceilings and wood paneling. Fireplaces are in the formal areas and create a gentle ambiance. Every room has large windows to take advantage of the views and let in plenty of natural light.
