Kennedy Residence
A year-round Florida home that was initially conceived as a collection of structures separated by exterior glass panels. The clients wanted unique spaces that were creative, fun and informal.
This design concept is captured though slightly restrained, and is detailed in the front elevation. A central entry tower dominates and supports the symmetry of the view. While the rear of the home speaks to a modern style, that is vast and open.
Living spaces were placed on the second floor to take advantage of ocean views. The U-shaped stairwell in the living room leads to a third-level loft, which provides amazing 360-degree views. The stairway to the center tower, which is constructed of grate, seems to float upward without an obvious connection to the walls, enhancing the structure's dramatic interior height. |
