Quirk Residence
This Nantucket home, inspired by the shingle style, takes a relatively simple form and adds details that create a fluid quality. For example, the porch wraps completely around the perimeter and dormers punctuate the single story eave on all four sides of the roof. And a fifteen-foot bank of sliding glass doors allows the interior to be opened up to the exterior in warm weather providing an outdoor dining area.
The home includes three bedrooms and three baths. The second floor bedrooms each have a private balcony and access to the roof walk perched on the ridge. The structure is slightly elevated in order to capture the views of the surrounding gardens.
