dance instructor & surfer

Carlos Ibarra started dancing with four years of training in Competiton Style at the Fred Astaire Studios in New York City . He has competed and performed in many championships in the Northeast as well as in the Miami Mambo Competitions.

Carlos has appeared as the featured ballroom dancer in Ritz Cracker commercials and has appeared on QVC to promote Saturday Night Fever Videos with his Hustle dancing. He has also performed in the Copa Cabana and other Salsa hot spots in Manhattan .

Carlos is adept in social and competitive dancing and is an exciting, upbeat instructor. He has taught group and private lessons in the city, was an instructor with Rhythm Break Productions and taught classes at the United Nations and the YWCA. He has been giving group and private lessons with DANCE NANTUCKET for four years and more recently at thespace .

His favorite dances are the Argentine Tango, Lindy and Salsa and he just can't seem to get enough of the Texas Two Step!  Carlos is now living on Nantucket and is becoming involved with the great surfers and waves of the island.
