sculptor
Copper mobile sculptor, Rain Harbison, attended the Art Institute
of Pittsburg. She moved to Nantucket in 1993 and worked on
a vegetable farm, learning everything she could about plants
and medicinal herbs.
She began her career in the creative and healing arts first
through gardening; then she went on to develop her own line
of healing products, "Nantucket Healing Garden,"
from the herbs she grew. Rain's first mobile was done 5 years
ago, when her son Caleb was born. It was a simple bamboo stick
and twine construction.
She introduced different mediums and began sculpting copper
garden pieces a few years ago. "It was only a matter
of time before I combined my love of copper with my love of
wind propelled art. My mobiles combine nature and art
"
