"I kept seeing myself in a room of windows - like little
pictures on the walls - 365 little dreamlike windows, like
images representing each day in a single year." The drawings
started after attending her spiritual teacher's Bon initiation
ceremony in 1998; artist and healer, Santjes Oomen, was inspired
to create her series of 82 paintings "Lost in Transition"
in dedication.
Her work represents tibetan prayer or meditation cards, known
as scrying cards; windows which open us up to other dimensions.
It has been embraced by His Holiness the 33rd Abbot of Menri
Monastary of the Bon religion and it is Santjes' wish and
dream that the series is available to all in the best interest
in the Bon dreaming tradition.
For her it has been a very emotional and spiritual journey,
and one that she is grateful for; to bring the images to the
physical world through open heart, on paper through pen and
brush. In addition to her creative art images, Santjes blesses
Nantucket natives and visitors with her holistic massage practice
which focuses on life force energy and the whole individual.
